New Imperialism

By the time most read this post, our new corporation within Eve will have started. Congo Free State is now it's own corporation and we have moved out of the Ghetto.

Collectively, I think we all got tired of collecting soda cans and beer bottles and trading them in for 5 cents; we just hate traveling around with a shopping cart filled with cans. Compounds in the Drone regions are not bounty rats - and anyone who tells you differently is .. well insane.

The Congo Free State has moved to Molden Heath and settled into a nice back-end system. We are going to do some interesting things in the next few weeks; most of which is setup a scalable organization in which to pivot from. We will be recruiting, setting up logistical routes, looking for some interesting 0.0 locations and aligning ourselves with other corporations and alliances.

We have organized along functional lines. That is, we have created a semi-imperial oligarchy. This is a leadership of a few and it divides power along functional lines. In the modern sense, it's just like a corporation.

The original Congo Free State was a corporation first and a colony second. It served the financial concerns of King Leopold and not the Belgian people - in that respect, it served the share holders (there were many Leopold recruited) first and then the colonial interests second. Leopold made a fortune on the venture - but used very "ends justifies the means" mechanisms to achieve these gains. In the end, he was removed as the "CEO" of the Congo Free State and the colonial interests of Belgium took preceident. The Parliament of Belgium annexed the Congo Free State and took over its administration on November 15, 1908.

So, with the above in mind, we serve the shareholders of the Congo Free State first -- What we find, we take.

I have a new term... New Imperialism
